Sterling Main Street, Inc.

History of the Market...
The Twin City Market began during the year of 2005 when numerous volunteers renovated part of the old Twin City Produce building. For the past three years market vendors and volunteers have put in countless hours cleaning, painting, and constructing to revive this old structure. The Twin City Market is truly unique in that it is an indoor, year-round market. Indoor markets are rare in the Northern United States because they are very difficult to sustain during the winter months.
The Market Today...
In 2007 Sterling Main Street became the sponsorship and administrative keeper of the Twin City Market. The idea of constructing a commercial kitchen in the market became a reality when Sterling Main Street raised enough funds to complete the project. In October of 2007 the kitchen was completed and the Twin City Market was taken to a new level.

The kitchen allows the market to sell locally made baked goods and allows vendors to share samples and cooking ideas to customers. The kitchen also allows the market to raise funds by hosting monthly breakfasts and lunches. These funds help to sustain the high energy costs associated with the winter months.
